Everyone loves having roses in their vase at home. Their shape, vibrant colors, and alluring smell catch our attention. However, it is important to be attentive toward roses, to take care of them, and keep them fresh.
This is a guide to how to take care of roses.
First and foremost, it is very important to put them in the water as soon as you get them. Cut the stems of your roses at a 45-degree angle, remove any leaves that would otherwise be in the water, and submerge flowers into your vase. Removing leaves is an important step since they can lead to bacterial growth. Keep in mind that, generally the leaves absorb a lot of water, which means that the head will get less of it, so you might even decide to remove the leaves altogether.
Next, place the vase in a cool, well-lit place, away from the direct sunlight and the heat. Also, avoid placing the vase near the fruit, they emit ethylene gas, which ages flowers quicker. Also, roses, like most flowers, do not like drafts.
These gorgeous flowers enjoy humidity so avoid a dry environment. The water in the vase must be changed every day and the rose stems are cut every second day. As the roses begin to fade, you may cut the stems again radically, by around 10 cm. Finally, if you notice that the water level in the vase has decreased, add more water.
