Calathea

Calathea is native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It grows in damp, shady places. Moderately lit areas are ideal for this plant. Do not water the plant with tap water directly, as tap water can damage the leaves. Relatively frequent watering is required, about twice a week, to keep the soil from drying out.
